Terms of service.

Welcome to Friday Pottery! By registering for a class, workshop, or event, you agree to the following terms of service. We’re here to provide a creative, welcoming space for pottery enthusiasts of all levels, and these policies help keep things running smoothly.

  • Student Absences

    • Feeling Unwell: If you are sick, please stay home. Notify us as soon as possible, and we’ll provide a summary of what you missed. Make-up options are subject to studio availability.

    • Severe Weather: If dangerous weather occurs, we may reschedule the class for safety. Updates will be sent via email or text.

    • Missed Classes: While make-up sessions are not guaranteed, you’re welcome to catch up during open studio hours (if available) or use resources provided by the instructor.

    • No-Shows: If you miss a class without notifying us, make-ups are unlikely, but please reach out—we’ll try to work with you if possible.

    Instructor Absences

If the instructor cannot teach due to illness or an emergency:

    • We will notify students as soon as possible and reschedule the class.

    • If a reschedule is not possible, we’ll arrange a substitute instructor or alternative solutions.

    • Refunds or credits may be issued in rare circumstances at the studio’s discretion.

  • Your privacy is important to us. By participating in our services, you agree to the terms outlined in our Privacy Policy.

    • Slow Drying Process: All student work is dried slowly in the studio before being bisque-fired to Cone 04 and clear-glazed (unless otherwise agreed or prescribed by a specific course or workshop curriculum).

    • Final Firing: Glazed pieces are fired to Cone 5-6 (depending on glaze).

    • Timeline: Finished pieces are typically ready for pickup one week after the workshop or class ends. Pickup is available by appointment Sunday-Friday or as a drop-in between 10 AM and 3 PM on Saturday.

    • No Responsibility for Work Left Over 30 Days: Pottery left in the studio for longer than 30 days may be discarded or used for glaze testing, and we are not responsible for lost or stolen items left beyond this timeframe.

    • Lost or Damaged Pottery Due to Studio Negligence: If your work is lost or damaged due to studio negligence or accidents, we will replace or refund it, or provide the opportunity to retake the class at no charge. For works made outside of the studio, you use our kiln firing service at your own risk—no guarantees. Pottery is fickle.

  • We must create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated. This includes but is not limited to:

    • Bullying or abusive language, as defined by the studio management

    • Discrimination based on race, gender, religion, age, or any other protected characteristic, as defined by the studio management

    • Unwelcome physical or verbal behavior, as defined by the studio management

    • Violent or destructive behavior, as defined by the studio management

If a participant violates this policy, they may be asked to leave the studio without a refund and may not be able to return.

    • Participants under 18 years of age may only be present in the studio if accompanied by at least two or more adults at all times. This is for the safety and well-being of all students and staff.

    • Parents or guardians may be required to sign a waiver for any child participating in a class or workshop.

    • We are not responsible for lost or stolen pottery left in the studio for longer than 30 days.

    • Please take care to label and track your personal belongings. Lost or stolen personal items cannot be reimbursed.

    • Damaged or Lost Pottery: If your pottery is damaged or lost due to our negligence or an accident, we will replace or refund the item, or you will be invited to retake the class at no additional cost.

    • Cancellation Policy: Classes are non-refundable. However, we offer flexible options if you can’t attend:

      • Rescheduling: You may reschedule for a course or workshop of equal or lesser value. Limited to one reschedule per student per year.

      • Studio Time Substitution: You can substitute your class for studio time at a rate of $10/hour equivalent. For example, if a class costs $48, you may use 5 hours of studio time instead.

  • We aim to foster a supportive and creative studio culture. By participating in our services, you agree to respect fellow students, instructors, and studio policies. Failure to follow safety rules or engage in appropriate behavior may result in dismissal from the class without a refund.

  • By participating in classes, workshops, or events at Friday Pottery, you consent to the following:

    • Studio Photography: Photos or videos may be taken during classes and events for use in promotional materials, including but not limited to social media, our website, and print materials.

    • Your Work: Photos of your pottery may also be featured in promotional content.

    • Opting Out: If you prefer not to be photographed or have your work featured, please notify us in writing before your class begins by emailing studio@fridaypottery.com.

We respect your privacy and will always use photos and videos in a positive, respectful manner.

If you have any questions about these policies, please reach out to us at studio@fridaypottery.com or 572-212-0069. We’re here to help and can’t wait to see you in the studio!
