Closing SOon
Dear friends, makers, and lovers of clay,
After a lot of reflection, I’ve made the difficult decision to close the studio.
Running Friday Pottery has been one of the most joyful, exhausting, and creatively fulfilling chapters of my life. I’ve met the most incredible people through this space—folks who weren’t afraid to get a little muddy. But lately, the weight of political uncertainty, rising costs, and the demands of small business life have made it harder and harder to keep the doors open and the kiln hot.
I love art. I love teaching. But the behind-the-scenes hustle has started to overshadow the heart of why I started this in the first place—to create community. And when that joy starts to fade, it’s time to pause, breathe, and find a new way forward.
To everyone who’s thrown a pot, glazed a masterpiece, or just cheered from the sidelines—thank you. This community has been the soul of Friday Pottery. I’m so grateful for every single one of you.
I’m not done creating—just stepping back to make space for what’s next.
With gratitude,
Josh and Friday
